Family owned Twin Trees of Washington County has 500 premium Southern Live Oak trees grown inground and nurtured with love. The intention is for these trees to enhance Washington County and surrounding areas.
About Our Location
The 500 beautiful Live Oaks of Twin Trees of Washington County are raised and cared for by the Calaway family that has proudly had its ranch, Ivy Ridge, at 6600 Greenvine Road, Washington Co for 52 years. For many years we have loved our time working to make our ranch a place of beauty and a wildlife sanctuary. Six years ago we decided to develop a 10 acre Live Oak tree farm with the express purpose of devoting our time and love to caring for each trees health, beauty and structural integrity.
About Our Trees
Our Live Oak trees are planted in the rich Greenvine soil, irrigated, and perhaps most importantly carefully pruned and thinned each year by our family. This devotion to our trees has been a blessing to our family, as we have watched our little trees grow into 4-6 inch diameter trees with big canapés and excellent branch structure. Each tree is planted 25ft from its neighbors on all sides, allowing freedom of form. As a result,Twin Trees of Washington County have trees for those that love low branch trees perfect for climbing and swings, to highly symmetrical trees of classic form and strength.
Twin Trees does not attempt to compete with large commercial growers that tend to raise huge numbers of trees, packed together, and with very limited yearly care. Our care for detail and small scale make our trees more beautiful and healthier.
During the winter of 2019-2020 we sold and transplanted our first 20 trees. During the transplantation season (November through April), we will be selling approximately 100 of our most nature trees. They will generally be at least 4 inches in diameter to approximately 6 inches in diameter, and stand 13-18 ft tall.
Find Your Perfect Trees
Our fond hope is that all of these trees will be transplanted in Washington County or adjoining counties so that our trees will grace our beloved area for the next 200 years.
We are committed to placing our trees in good homes, and have a personal commitment to their safe care. Please contact us and arrange a time, ideally on the weekends, to come out to walk the tree farm and select the specific trees that speak to you. Trees are like long held friends. If you nurture them and grow old with them, they will bring you endless joy. We speak to our trees, and we know we can find trees that speak to you.
The Calaway family looks forward to hearing from you and bringing our trees to your ranch, home or business.
